Charcoal Deer Skull

Charcoal Drawings
An assignment for my drawing class required me to draw using charcoal to make a completely black background and use a kneaded eraser to showcase a plastic white deer skull. The objective of this assignment was to look at an object and perceive what parts of the skull show high contrast in light values to showcase a sense of depth. Each area with a shadow could not be as dark as the black background because a shadow on the white skull was not as dark as the background.

Cast Mold Exercise
Another assignment for my drawing class allowed me to choose between different figures. The mold that I chose had a theme of creases that I wanted to showcase through subtle gradation in those specific areas. This exercise was done in one class which took about an hour.
Live Model Drawing
An assignment for my drawing class had a live model and I was asked to create gesture drawings before attempting a drawing in detail and this was the result.
